Main Stream Education
Children (8-9 years) learning English as a first language

Results show language skills improvement of 2.4 years age-equivalent after just 6 hours training, and found further improvements of 0.6 years 6 weeks later with no further training.



Language Impairments
Children (6-14 years) with speech and language difficulties learning English as a first language

Results show improvement of 1.8 years age-equivalent in word discrimination abilities after just 6 hours training.



English as an Additional Language
Adults and Children learning English as an Additional Language

Trials are being conducted in partnership with
ECC, one of the four largest English language schools operators in Japan. Scientifically validated results will provide a key point of differentiation in the Japanese English language learning market and also for the applicability of Phonomena training for EAL/EFL/ESL generally. Phonomena was selected by the British Council for the English Language Teaching (ELT) Innovation Awards in 2003 - the 'Oscars' of the ELT world.

These trials learning Spanish are being developed in conjunction and will be conducted in partnership with
NESTA Futurelab, a research centre funded by the UK Government's Department for Education and Skills.
