I am amazed at the progress he continues to make in this area and I am sure this due in part that he had to focus so hard in the exercises. I am surprised at how well my adult client did, given the nature of his difficulties.”
Works with adults lacking basic skills, many with dyslexic type difficulties.

^ back to top “The two children who followed the programme for 4 weeks, both showed improvement in their listening skills.
“A” showed obvious improvement in general listening skills over the trial period. He followed instructions more quickly by the end of the trial, and was better at recognising differences in the school spelling tests. He was able to attend for longer periods to someone speaking to him, and was more reliably able to discriminate vowels from the exercises.
“T” showed a dramatic improvement in her general ability across the board. From being a child who would cry at the slightest challenge to her attention and listening, she is becoming more of classroom member in her mainstream school. She is now able to follow classroom instructions at the 50% level, previously she rarely could recall and act. Her piano teacher, who did not know she was on the trial, commented that there had been a dramatic change in her listening and ability to follow rhythm. She has also begun to develop some reasoning skills, this was noted during the trial exercises, she listened to the target sound and was starting to predict where her cursor should go dependent on the sound the first gonk made. This behaviour started to show itself at the 2 1/2 week stage. As her scores increased she gained in confidence and co-operative determination.”

^ back to top “I am writing to confirm to you that we would be pleased to distribute your quality 'Phonomena' software in Australia. Immediately they identified particular people who would be interested in your product”.

^ back to top “They like it and get a real buzz from it. It’s good. They’re progressing. I would continue to use it if it were available….&….would recommend it to other SENCO’s and classroom teachers"
Linsey M. Special Needs Coordinator
Headington Primary, Oxford
^ back to top "We used Phonomena for about one month. Three children used it for twenty minutes twice weekly. After training, I observed some improvements in remembering items on an alliteration task and in manipulating phonemes. One child had been dropped from the project, however, as he couldn’t remember who had said what. Two children also needed lots of positive reinforcement to persist when they got lots of responses incorrect. It did seem to be effective and I would feel very happy to let a teaching assistant carry on doing Phonomena, once the children have been assessed as having reasonable auditory memory etc."
Ann Forrester Speech & Language Therapist

^ back to top “The programme is well structured in the foundation skills of phonological awareness and I can see it being a useful tool in helping to develop these skills. I can see Phonomena filling a special need in the remedial market, in fact, I think it is a viable alternative to FastForword”.
